According to Dunia Frontier Consultants, a Washington, DC-based consulting firm, foreigners were responsible for an estimated $45.6 billion in investments in Iraq in the first half of the year, double the same time frame in 2010. As the deadline for the departure of the remaining American forces in Iraq approaches, Iraqi politicians have been increasingly pressured to give a final decision about extending the mandate for a small U.S. military presence beyond the end of the 2011 deadline.
